About the Team Builder

RomHackDex hosts a Team Builder for every supported Pokémon ROM hack - Radical Red, Unbound, Inclement Emerald, Emerald Rogue, Crystal Clear, Blazing Emerald, Emerald Kaizo, Renegade Platinum, Gaia, R.O.W.E., Blaze Black 2 & Volt White 2 Redux, Sacred Gold & Storm Silver, Theta Emerald Renev, and Vanilla Gen 9 Scarlet/Violet. Each Team Builder is scoped to that hack's specific roster and movepools, so type matchups and threat rankings reflect the actual hack rather than vanilla Pokémon.

What does the Team Builder do?

  • Type Coverage analysis. Every one of the 18 Pokémon types is shown with how many team members are threatened, resist, or are immune to it.
  • Top 10 Threats ranking. The Pokémon from that hack's roster who would deal the most damage to your team are ranked, each with their best moves, abilities, and stats.
  • Coverage tagging. Each threat is tagged Can Be Wiped, Can Be Dealt With, Problem, or Threat based on whether your moves super-effectively cover it.
  • Shareable team URLs. The Share button generates a URL that encodes your full team for anyone to open.

Damage calculations use a level-50 baseline with neutral natures, zero IVs/EVs, no items, and no ability effects - a standard convention to keep rankings deterministic.

How accurate is the threat ranking?

Each hack's Team Builder uses that hack's actual parsed data - types, base stats, learnsets - so type matchups and movepools are correct for the specific hack. Damage math is based on standard mechanics: STAB, type effectiveness (including immunities), and the attacker's offensive stat versus the defender's defensive stat at level 50.

Does the Team Builder work on mobile?

Yes. The interface adapts to phone, tablet, and desktop screen sizes. All interactions work on touch.

Can I share my team?

Yes. Click Share on any per-hack Team Builder to copy a URL that restores your team and movesets exactly when opened by anyone else.
